Cherry blossom heels {Monique & Frazer}

There are some people in this world that just make you smile and feel happy. Monique is one of those: full of life, full of exuberance, warm, open, and she met her match in Frazer. They laugh and joke and tease each other, and they connect on a level that is theirs and it’s special.

I first met Monique when she was the Maid of Honour at Sam and Jerry’s wedding. Sam was in turn Monique’s Maid of Honour and it was really special to document the weddings of such close friends. I was so happy when Monique and Frazer asked me to photograph their wedding before they had even found the location…and when Monique found South Farm and fell in love with it, and then realized that I had worked closely with them many times before, she felt it was all meant to be.

Monique and Frazer’s day was crafted from a combination of homemade and carefully chosen pieces. Monique spent a lot of time collecting together the reception details, from the slate centerpieces and tin can candle-holders. Frazer and the best man Eddie made the incredible wooden table plan together, by hand. The beautiful soft florals for the bouquets and buttonholes were put together by Dawn, a family friend, while Monique and her team of friends out together the reception flowers themselves. Sheona at Cake Matters, who had made Sam and Jerry’s wedding cake, created an exquisite piece so in keeping. There was a lot of love and care put into each element and it permeated the day.

Of course I have to mention those shoes. The first thing Monique found, and knew she had to have. Harriet Wilde, Sakura in Nude Kid Suede. Show stopping. Her dress was designed by her and Niki Mayes, and Niki made it specially for Monique.

The day was fun. With capitals. Over dinner, the magician David Penn (of Britain’s Got Talent Live Finalist fame) entertained and amazed Monique and Frazer’s friends and family with some pretty inspiring close up magic tricks. When it came time to hit the dance floor the party came into its own. It was truly so hard for us to leave.
