The Proper English Sendoff {Sarah and Dave}

The run up to their Priston Mill wedding was a little more than hectic, as just a few months before, Dave and Sarah made the decision to emigrate to Australia just two days after their wedding day. This made the day even more poignant, as it became a sort of sendoff party, and the last time they would get to see their friends and family in a little while.

Dave’s parents surprised him with a VW van to take him and the groomsmen to the venue. He was just a little made up. There was a serious sense of togetherness, of love an acceptance between family and friends, and it was pretty amazing to document.

Dave told me that he works in the beer industry when we were wandering the canals on their Birmingham engagement shoot. His passion extended to a beer tasting at the wedding, but not just any beer…those with significance to himself and Sarah. Each bottle had a label on it describing the story behind their choice. I love these stories.

The cerebration was rustic elegance in all its glory. Sarah’s JMB Blush dress from The Wedding Club dressed with a belt by Tallulah’s trinkets and a pair of stunning gold Jimmy Choo’s set the tone. Flowers by Passion created a palette in green and white, and pictures of family weddings and fairy lights added the magic. And there has to be a nod to the sumptuous English looking cake, dripping in fresh fruit and flowers, created by Sandra Monger Cakes.

Sarah & Dave, I hope your journey to the other side of the world was enjoyable and that you are settling in beautifully. I am so excited for your adventure in love and in life and am so grateful to have shared in this moment.
