Early December morning mist blanketed Hedsor House. Jay Archer Floral Designs team was busy bedecking the ground floor with spectacular rich winter florals, deep oranges and reds with delicate textures fitting the romance of the day.
Leah and her maids were above stairs getting ready n the beautiful bridal suite. The maids matte gold sequined floor length gowns calling on that old glamour of the 1920s. Leah has exquisite taste. She chose the Phoenix dress by Suzanne Neville, paired with a show stopping veil by David Fielden and asymmetric head piece by Debbie Carlisle, to great effect. Rich got ready with his groomsmen at a cottage near by, all dressed in sharp suits and bow ties. Sometimes, brides and grooms exchange gifts to be opened on the morning of the wedding when they are apart. Both Leah and Rich were moved to speachless when they opened each others gifts and cards.
This is the first time I had photographed at Hedsor House. It really is a beautiful building, with its central atrium with balustrade whee the ceremony was held, with sting quartet on the balcony. The rest of the downstairs rooms encircle this focal point, and Leah and Rich designed their day to create a journey from room to room for different parts of the day, which worked so well. Beattie Bailey planned the celebrations, and were both truly excellent and totally lovely to work with.
This was a truly stylish affair. The black tie theme had the best dressed guests, and the production of the day made for a very sophisticated party. These two are very loved, and their friends and family were going to celebrate their union in the very best style. Following the heartfelt and hilarious speeches, Rich has a little surprise for Leah. He had arranged fireworks, something she really had really wanted, and although the December weather had set in, all the guest set out into dark with umbrellas in hand for a romantic gesture that wont be soon forgotten.
Leah and Rich, it has been an absolutely joy to get to know you both, and I wish you every happiness in the world.
