Gate Street Barn, Surrey
Jen and Duncan are very loved. Their Gate Street Barn wedding was overwhelmingly characterised by the care a joy of their friends and family, in celebration of them. It’s not surprising, they are two of the kindest and coolest people you’ll meet, with a quiet confidence that underlies all they do. And they have an enviable love. They have built a life together, having lived in Australia and England together you can tell home for them is wherever they both are. In the run up to the wedding Duncan and I were secretly designing a surprise fine art frame for Jen contusing 47 memories from their life to this point. It was special to be involved in creating a wedding gift from a groom to his bride, and even better to watch her open it.
Jen’s breathtaking customised Lyn Ashworth dress was paired with a soft colourful bouquet by Rosie Orr, while Duncan looked very sharp in Paul Smith. The bridesmaids powder blue dresses were complimented with deep pink shoes which matched the peonies in their bouquets. Jen is an event organiser, and her skill really showed in the impeccable attention to detail, from decor to timings.
Jen and Duncan really appreciate good food and that was always going be a feature of the day. They had the most delicious cake table, created by family and friends’ baking skills. Their wedding breakfast was catered by Tandem, and they had a street stall theme for their evening food. A smores station by the fire pit for a sugar rush, and The Tinderbox, a wood fired mobile pizza oven. The Tinderbox team made some of the best pizza I have ever tasted, Italy included. I have craved this pizza ever since.
We were so grateful to have documented this celebration. Jen and Duncan found us through one of Jen’s close friends Ellie who’s beautiful wedding we photographed last year. It will always be so special to us to be recommended in this way. Jen & Dunc, we hope they images bring back the best memories. You deserve every happiness.
