This day, this wedding day in late summer, was always going to be extraordinary and full or heart. Nikki & Stephen and I have got to know each other quite well over the last year at their engagement shoot at St Pancras Station and the new born session with their son Jack. I am very fond of them.
Nikki & Stephen are huge festival goers. Stephen proposed to Nikki in a bell tent at The Secret Garden Party (a fabulous tent that made its appearance on the wedding day too). The festival theme was apt. It goes hand in hand with them and their story. And they don’t do things by halves these two. The details were perfectly in theme from the ticket-like invitations (designed by We Go Together) to the lanyards for all the guests and suppliers. The heavens were in tune with the festival theme too, from bright sun to torrential rain….they wanted a festival! It was colourful and full of great music – with the great Mr Russ Jay DJ-ing them in to the night. True to form, Mr Cake immortalised the proposal in the form of a bell tent shaped cake. Brilliant.
Nikki created a unique look that was utterly her: an Ian Stuart Libertine dress paired with a fabulous headpiece complete with hummingbird. Elbie van Eeden‘s hair and makeup skills made the look sing. Ione from Crazy Daisy understood Nikki’s vision and created an unusual bouquet the likes of which I have not seen before.
This day was full of all the laughter and love these two deserve. I wish you every happiness every day, my dear Rice family x
