Light & lace {Olly & Victoria}

Babington House, Somerset

I met Olly and Victoria before their wedding at her parent’s home. That choice epitomises the inclusive and kind nature they both share. I adored documenting this day. It was such a celebration of their love in a warm and personal way. Friends and family assembled to make sure that the start of their life together was as magical as it could be. It was a complete joy to be amongst such a group and feel the care and esteem that Victoria and Olly are held in.

They met working in film production, so I had a feeling their day would be very visually beautiful. Victoria’s Alice Temperley dress with lace sleeves and button detail suited her perfectly. Finished with a garland of wax flowers, she looked so beautiful. A rich dark burgundy accented the day, echoed through Victoria’s Jimmy Choos, the bridesmaids’ stunning Adrianna Papell Art Deco Beaded Dresses, and in the spectacular florals by the ever amazing Flowers by Passion. The elegant wildness of Victoria’s bouquet was particularly arresting, with silver and lavender silk ribbons flowing in the wind. Olly’s classic grey suit from King and Allen made him the picture of the suave groom. Gus, their puppy, sported a red bow tie, and joined the festivities with his characteristic good nature.

After the ceremony in St Margaret’s Chapel, the guests mingled on the lawn, sipping cocktails and being serenaded by a string quartet from STYLISH Entertainment. The sunshine and light breeze was that final ingredients to the perfect day, making everything come to life. Flowers by Passion created an amazing heart for the front door and the asymmetry of the chapel flower arch particularly appealed to my own aesthetic. They transformed the Orangery with hanging balls of flowers, plinth and cut glass vase arrangements and candelabras, creating an atmosphere not to be forgotten. As the evening drew in, the fire pits and lanterns in the ancient pine, which watches over the house, took their parts in setting the stage for the newly married.
