Joanna and Dave have a relationship that has all the closeness and respect of two who have grown together. They have a great sense of fun so evident from their engagement session in local bluebell woods earlier this Spring. They planned their church ceremony and Hampden House wedding reception with classical, beautiful and personal details.
Elegant soft pinks, purples and whites served for their colour palette. Joanna chose a breathtaking Paloma Blanca dress and detailed vintage hairpiece and veil. Dave was bound to shed a tear of joy when he saw her.
Their faith is very important to them. They married in Akeman Street Baptist Church in Tring, with a moving and beautiful ceremony.
The reception was held at the grand Hampden House, Buckinghamshire, nestled in the Chiltern Hills. It is a quintessentially English country house with 1,000 years of history and views along the Misbourne Valley. It’s elegant facade is matched by the interior – The Great Hall is striking with its dark wooden beams and paneling, really giving a sense of that history. The opulent dining room, with it’s chandeliers and hand painted wallpaper of vines and birds, provided the perfect setting for their wedding breakfast of sumptuous food.
In reflection of that sense of fun and a wedding that was really them, the groom, groomsmen and guests started up a cricket match at the reception on the perfectly manicured lawns, which could have been made for the game.
The grounds of Hampden House are full of old, majestic trees which Joanna and Dave were keen to feature in their images, so we took a stroll around the grounds as the afternoon light seeped into the gaps in the canopy of leaves. Their closeness and happiness is completely mesmerising, and we know they will have a long and beautiful marriage.
