It’s been a few years now since we all had cameras in our pocket, but as technology has advanced and those cameras have got better, the phrase ‘the best camera is the one that you have with you’ has become more and more relevant. This last year I have more completely documented the way I see the world through my iPhone and Instagram. I love being able to capture what and how I see things inconspicuously and instantly, any time, any place through the camera in my pocket (which is also, though less often, a phone).
Every camera is a tool, and every tool has a job for which it is perfect. For me, accepting the limitations of this sort of camera gives me a lot of freedom in learning how to manipulate the few things I can – what I point my camera at (where the light is falling) and how I compose the image. There is such beauty in that simplicity.
I love instagram and the story the images tell about my life, and I would love to share four images each month that have been most popular in my stream.
