Barnsley House, Cirencester
Last autumn, I was chosen to document a very private and exquisite Barnsley House vow renewal. The foliage in the gardens were just beginning to turn gold, glowing in the autumn afternoon light. The House was dressed to perfection with romantic arrangements of soft white and green textures and lots of candles. It’s not hard to see why Flowers by Passion are one of my very favourite florists. In the Potager, the fireplace was transformed with a swathe of candles creating a breathtaking backdrop to this intimate ceremony.
The lady of the celebrations wore the most gorgeous couture gown made especially for her by Angelina Colarusso. Angelina’s couture creations are inspired by the Golden Age of 1950’s Dior gowns, and they are made in the same way, and she made the wedding gown for the Countess of Weymouth.
This was a weekend of celebrations with the couple’s very closest. There was champagne by the fireside and cocktails by candle light. The most delicious food was served, from the mouth watering homemade cakes, to the celebration spread. On the first night, they walked to the private cinema along paths lit by fire torches to watch a favourite 1950s black and white movie, complete with the traditional popcorn machine. On the second night they danced into the night to classic Jazz with those lyrics that can make you fall in love.
I leave you with some evocative details from this very special weekend.
