The animals went in two by two, hurrah! hurrah!
The animals went in two by two, hurrah! hurrah!
The animals went in two by two, the elephant and the kangaroo
And they all went into the ark, for to get out of the rain.
When I was young I used to sit behind the sweet counter of my grandparents’ shop in Liverpool. I have always been very fond of that city and those who hail from that part of the world. Caroline and John met in those parts, and some years later have settled just outside of London, not so far from Whipsnade Zoo. They love seeing the animals, so a Whipsnade Zoo engagement shoot seemed perfect.
We met on a Wednesday, so the grounds were quiet. The animals, who had had a time of it over the long hot bank holiday weekend, seemed relieved by the quietness and came out from their nests and shelters and explored. We walked the perimeter of the zoo, talking over their wedding plans, stopping to see our favourite animals. Caroline and I share a love of the red pandas, and they kindly woke up to greet us.
Sweet laughter and wonderful stories filled my ears as we wandered. Caroline and John are kind, relaxed, beautiful people with real sense of fun and what is important in life. Their wedding day will be such a joy to document.
