I had been so excited about the wedding on the coast all season. Jess and David adore the wild outdoors, hiking every chance they get. When their summer wedding turned out to be a foggy windy day that made the waves come alive, the wild romance, the organic naturalness of it all seemed just perfect.
They got married in The Alexandra Hotel overlooking the ocean, and then walked the short private woodland walk up the hill to Jess’ parents house. Amongst the trees, the festoon lights glowed in the slightly misty air and the traditional fairground games amused guests as they entered the party. Full of truly personal details, I couldn’t but mention the spectacular cake made by David mother (a tableau of their favourite pastime), and the incredible deserts table brought together by family and friends.
Jess’ delicate Katya Katya dress and the natural, wistful bouquet by The Real Cut Flower Garden, suited her and the surroundings so perfectly. I will always remember capturing David and Jess sharing a moment of quiet togetherness out on the Cobb, while the wind made the ribbons and lace of her dress dance and the cold salt air made us feel alive.
