Babington House, Somerset
This day was a dream. Erin and Alex are genuine and caring people, I fell a little in love with them when we met for their London engagement session just before Christmas. I knew then just how special they were. The combination of their style, charm and authenticity was bound to make this day incredible.
Babington House was the perfect match for them. The ancient pine was adorned with festoon lights an lanterns (courtesy of Stylish Entertainment), and Flowers by Passion created one of the prettiest flower arches I have seen to frame the chapel entrance. They met at St. Andrews, and their time in Scotland was noted with thistles in the flowers and a bagpiper who played in Erin’s arrival and their joyful departure from St Margaret’s Chapel.
Erin wore stunning Jimmy Choos, a flowing dress with lace detail around the waist, and a natural bouquet with elegant soft purple, silver grey and ivory ribbons. Melanie Giles and Victoria Draper were on superb form on hair and makeup. Alex looked very sophisticated in his blue suit, which had been personalised with embroidered initials and the day’s date. Erin’s grandmother, mother and cousin wore the most beautiful silk kimonos that had been in the family for three generations.
What I love about Babington House is how it marries elegance and style with a very homely feeling. It is a great place for a personal gathering and this day was no exception. There was so much love and appreciation for Alex and Erin, a real celebration of them as individuals as well as their union. Alex rewarded the guests with a beautifully emotional speech, one to remember.
We had some fun with sparklers under the lanterns in the very ends of the light, before taking to the dance floor. The atmosphere was amazing, with that magic ingredient of Nigel’s lighting – my very favourite to photograph.
I could continue to effuse more about this wedding but I’ll let the pictures do some of the talking…
